Friends World Committee for Consultation Committee

Encourages and supports Australian Quakers to make connections with other Quakers around the World.

Purpose

to promote the work of FWCC and AWPS among Australian Quakers

to identify Concerns of Australian Friends that warrant FWCC’s attention, and brings those matters to either Standing Committee or Yearly Meeting for endorsement

to bring items of interest, such as  projects for support, to the attention of Quaker Service Australia

to discern Australia Yearly Meeting’s representation at AWPS and FWCC meetings

This Australia Yearly Meeting Committee comprises a representative appointed by each of the seven Regional Meetings to serve for 4 years; either one or two Young Friends; and ex officio any Australian office-holder within the structure of FWCC internationally; plus ex officio the AYM Presiding Clerk and Secretary.  The committee meets regularly via Zoom, and face-to-face at Yearly Meetings.  
 
FWCC is the Friends World Committee for Consultation – an international organisation of Friends. FWCC operates through four geographical sections.  AYM belongs to the Asia and West Pacific Section (AWPS).
