Meeting for Learning Retreat Week

Meeting for Learning (MfL), a transformative Quaker program, kicks off with a week-long retreat in Poatina, Tasmania, from Sunday 19 to Saturday 25 October, 2025. This event is part of a year-long spiritual journey, designed for individuals interested in deepening their understanding of Quaker practices and spirituality.

Hosted by Tasmania Regional Meeting, it is the 2nd event at this facility. MfL is a 12-month program that some will be completing this year, but others will begin this year. Retreats are held annually, usually two consecutive years at the same facility. The host for 2026 will soon be discerned.

Participants will benefit from ongoing support throughout the year, including a support group from their local community or family, aimed at nurturing their spiritual growth.

This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore spirituality within a supportive Quaker community, promising a journey of reflection, learning, and personal growth.

The Retreat is open to Members, Attenders and others in sympathy with Quaker faith and practices. If you think this retreat might be for you, please take these steps:

1. Talk to a previous participant in your local Meeting, or your Regional Meeting Clerk, to ask about their experience.

2. Write to Fiona Gardner fionagardneraway@icloud.com expressing your interest in participating. If possible this should be by the end of May 2024.
