Who We Are

The Quaker Peace & Legislation Committee (QPLC) is a standing committee of Quakers Australia. We work to promote peace, justice, and integrity in public policy, advocating for legislative change in alignment with Quaker values. Through monitoring legislation, producing Watching Briefs, and engaging in advocacy efforts, we seek to amplify Quaker concerns in political decision-making processes.

Our Work Includes:

• Monitoring and analysing legislative developments that impact peace, social justice, and sustainability.

• Publishing Watching Briefs to inform and guide Quakers and others on key policy issues.

• Writing public statements and open letters to advocate for justice and peace in government policies.

• Engaging with policymakers and decision-makers to encourage Quaker-aligned approaches to social and political issues.

• Collaborating with other Quaker and like-minded organisations to strengthen advocacy efforts.
