From Uluru Statement Org — Post Referendum Support Needed

As the end of the financial year approaches we are busy planning for the year ahead. In the wake of the Voice Referendum there is much work to be done.

“Dear Friends,

As the end of the financial year approaches we are busy planning for the year ahead. In the wake of the Voice Referendum there is much work to be done.

We need to build a database of the 6.2 million Australians who voted Yes so that we can continue this national conversation – and that’s operationally complex. Having a strong database of supporters will make us less reliant on paid media and social media algorithms.

We need to replace subjective opinions about why the call for a constitutionally enshrined Voice didn’t succeed with data driven analysis. Research is already underway. But there is more to find out, review and analyse. That research is costly, but necessary. We must build the next phase in our movement on a foundation of fact and thoughtful analysis.

We need to get back out to First Nations communities and Uluru Dialogue delegates for important conversations about what happened and where to next. There’s a Listening Tour planned for the end of this year. We always knew that First Nations peoples supported the Voice, and we saw that in the polling results from our communities. The Uluru Statement was the culmination of the largest consultation of First Nations people ever undertaken and the inclusion of community voices remains our top priority.

The caravan of journalists and politicians may have moved on, but we remain committed to the delivery of meaningful recognition for First Peoples. We can’t do it alone. The Uluru Dialogue is not a government funded body. We rely solely on donations to carry out our work.

As June 30 approaches, we’re asking if you would consider supporting our ongoing work through a financial donation.

Donations can be one off or recurring. Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

If you know someone in a position to support the Uluru Dialogue, please share this info.

As always, we are so grateful for your ongoing support, it is what gives us hope for the future.”
