Friends Friday: A First Generation Friend Speaks

06 May, 2022
6:00 PM

The next Friends Friday is next Friday 6 May 2022. A shared meal at 6.00 pm, will be followed by a session at 7.00 pm led by our friend David Johnson. David Johnson is a Member of Queensland Regional Meeting, and has a long commitment to nonviolence, opposing war and the arms trade. He has also worked with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

His publications include A Quaker Prayer Life, Peace is a Struggle and Jesus, Christ and Servant of God; Meditations on the Gospel according to John. These books can be found in the CRQ library. David will speak about a Fundamental Principle of Quakerism, as expressed by the First Generation Friends.

We invite Friends who are triple or quadruple vaccinated to attend this event, where food will be served following COVID safe guidelines. This will be a wonderful opportunity for new friends to meet one of the most significant modern thinkers on Quaker practice.
