We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and worship. We affirm our respect of their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Quakers affirm and celebrate diversity, equality and inclusion. We welcome seekers of all ancestries and cultures, all sexualities and genders, all socio-economic backgrounds, all capacities and abilities, whether with religious or non-religious backgrounds or beliefs.
We strive to value the gifts in all people because we believe that the beauty and richness of creation is in diversity.

We have a Meeting House in Kelvin Grove in inner-city Brisbane where Meeting for Worship is held every Sunday morning, including a program for children on some Sundays. The Meeting House also houses our Library. The building is surrounded by a significant native forest and the rooms can be hired by community groups. We also have accommodation for visitors. We have started the process of upgrading our premises and are fundraising for that purpose. In addition to weekly Meetings for Worship, Brisbane Quakers also hold a number of other meetings and gatherings.
If you are new to Quakerism, we suggest you go here to find out more about our beliefs and practices. Extensive information about other Quaker activities and beliefs is available on other parts of this website.
We are are a spiritual community with 7 worshipping groups in Queensland (see locations at the bottom of this page). The largest group of around 30-40 people worship at our Kelvin Grove Meeting House each Sunday. We are part of Quakers Australia, which is part of the world wide Quaker movement.
The Meeting for Worship is central to the Quaker way of life. Quakers gather in silence, normally on a Sunday. The silence is an active listening for the spirit within which has been practised by Friends for over 350 years. When moved by the Spirit, someone may give spoken ministry which emerges from silence and leads back into silence. Other special-purpose meetings such as meetings for business and marriages and funerals are also held in a spirit of silent worship.
